Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi has one of the most beautiful Adriatic promenades Setaliste Pet Danica, seven km long leads you from Meljine to Igalo. Herceg Novi was founded in the late 14th century and it numbers among the most attractive summer vacation spots in Montenegro. It has beautiful old town with buildings dating from 15th,16th and 17th century. The surrounding area is excellent for sailing and two beautiful coves, Zanjic and Mirista are just a mile away.
Risan
Where had precisely prehistoric hunters - painters from Lipci - lived it is not known, but it is certain that the oldest known historical place is Risan. The fortified Illyrian settlemen was mentioned, as far back as in the 3rd century B.C. According to legend, the Illyrian queen Teuta used to hide there from the Roman invasions. A fair number of coins from the Illyrian period, minted in a local blacksmith workshop, are preserved. The Romans left perfectly preserved mosaics, the most beautiful among them being the large mosaic with God Hypnos in a lying position.
Perast
The town Perast is situated opposite the Verige strait, as an eternal sentry of the Bay of Kotor. In front of the town, like two anchored stone ships, rest two islands: Sveto Djordje and Gospa od Skrpjela. On the Island of Sveti Djordje there is a church of the same name dating from the 12zh century, and the graveyard of Perast. The Island Gospa od Skrpjela is an artificial island, and the old tradition of ritual covering of crags with rocks and old barges has been preserved to the present days.
Kotor
Kotor was a city of traders and sailors which was built between 12th and 14th century. Because of its medieval architecture and historical monuments Kotor was listed as UNESCO ''World Natural and Historical Heritage Site''. We recommend you to visit Cathedral of St. Tryphon, a monument of Roman culture, Church of St. Luke, Church of St. Ana, Church of St. Mary, Prince's Palace and Napoleon's Theatre.
Tivat
Tivat was mentioned in the ancient times, but as a summer residence of wealthy citizens of Kotor. It obtained the status of the city only after the Arsenal for ship-repairing yard has been started by the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. For tourists, most attractive summer resort is Ostrvo cvijeca (The Island of Flowers). This island with rich vegetation has become a real tourist paradise.
Budva
Budva is one of the oldest urban centers in the Adriatic. It was inhabited 2.500 years ago. Fortress Citadela, which dates from 5th century B.C., Church of St. Ivan, St. Maria and St. Trinity are worth a visit. Budva is one of the main tourist centers in Montenegro and its old town is full of restaurants, cafes and boutiques.
Petrovac
Once small fisherman village nowadays town with goregus beaches and very good developed hotel and touris facilities, specialized for families with small kids
Bar
Bar is modern town but it also has some historical remains like 1000 years old town Stari Bar, located about 4 km away from the seashore. It is the largest urban agglomeration in ruins in Montenegro. A special attraction of the old town is the market place (in the local language called “pjaca”), where salesmen dressed in traditional costumes offer customers domestic products, such as citrus fruits, olives, olive oil, cheese… Bar area is well known for its olive trees which number over a hundred thousand and the oldest olive tree is over 2.000 years old. It is considered to be the oldest tree in Europe.
Ulcinj
The old urban core of Ulcinj is situated in the far south of Montenegrin seaside. It is renowned for its long sandy beaches interrupted with intimate shady beaches, as well as for Old urban core ruled by pirates once upon a time. According to legend, the famous author of "Don Quixote" Cervantes was thrown into terrifying prisons of Ulcinj.
